What is the MHS Medical Library?

The MHS Medical Library provides access to high-quality, evidence-based medical, nursing, and allied health information resources for MHS personnel. The MML ensures that all personnel have access to core, essential resources regardless of duty station. While on the DHA network, no login is necessary to access any library resources. MHS Military Library Remote Access Registration

This account will give you remote access to the MHS Medical Library resources using a single username and password.

To register, you must:

  1. Be affiliated with the Military Health System or Defense Health Agency. 
  2. Register on-site at your duty location or at home. Once registered, you will have access to MHS Military Library resources and databases. 
  3. Supply a valid Army email address to receive your username and activation code.

Databases

Other databases available through the AMEDD Virtual Library include Anatomy.tv, CINAHL Plus with full text, ClinicalKey for Nursing, Dentistry and Oral Sciences Source w/full text, Health Business Elite, Health Policy Reference Center, Lexicomp Online for Dentistry, MDGuidelines, Medline Plus, Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database, Point of Care Tool Suite, PsychiatryOnline, Science Direct, Travax Encompass, and the Veterinary Medicine eBook collection.

PubMed

PubMed comprises more than 29 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. Citations may include links to full-text content from PubMed Central and publisher web sites.  The National Library of Medicine along with the National Institutes of Health maintain the PubMed database. 

PubMed is a great place to start your research.  Create a profile to save searches, view recent activity, manage your bibliography, and set search filters.
